Bunaken Marine National Park is located in North Sulawesi and is 8 km from Manado City, and is one of the interesting tourist attractions.

Overall Bunaken National Marine Park has a large park area and there are five islands. Bunaken Island, Manado Tua Island, Siladen Island, Mantehage Island and Naen Island. Although this marine park area has five adjacent islands, only Bunaken Island is most famous as a dive site.

How to get to Bunaken marine national park

Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado city is connected with several other cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Balikpapan and Makassar. In addition, it serves direct flight routes from and overseas such as to Singapore, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, and Davao, Philippines. From Sam Ratulangi airport to Manado city you can use taxi with tariff about IDR 100,000.

There are several alternative ways to get to Bunaken Island from the city of Manado, namely through Manado Harbor, Marina Nusantara Diving Center (NDC) in Molas Subdistrict and Blue Banter Marina. From Manado port to Bunaken Island about 30 minutes, from NDC to Bunaken Island dive site takes about 20 minutes, while from Marina Blue Banter to Bunaken Island we will use the cruise ship about 10-15 minutes.

You can also rent a boat to Bunaken Island from Manado. There are two choices of places, from Pasar Bersehati or Marina. Boat rental price from Bersehati market to Bunaken are around IDR 300.000 up to IDR 400,000. Price are more expensive if we depart from the Marina, which is about IDR 600.000 up to IDR 800.000. Alternatively, we can use a traditional boat with a price IDR 50.000/person, only this traditional ship just departing when the passenger is full.

Entrance and ticket to Bunaken Island can be obtained in Manado and Bunaken National Park. You can also buy tickets at some ticket dealers in Bunaken and Liang villages on Bunaken and Siladen Islands. The admission price for foreign tourists is IDR 50.000/person/day or IDR 150,000/year.

On this island you can choose lodging with prices ranging from the cheapest, including full facilities. Some dive operators in Bunaken offer more expensive accommodation with adequate facilities.

You can also choose to stay in Manado city hotel and then order online and choose daily package to Bunaken. Usually leave early in the morning and back in the afternoon.
